Originally from Pozorrubio, Pangasinan, Gina Abellera first came to Canada in August 2012. She worked as food counter attendant at Quiznos in Edmonton, Alberta until the expiration of her work permit in August 2014. Long before she lost her status, Gina hired an Edmonton-based immigration consultant (Editor’s note: we cannot name the consultant as she is facing a number of criminal charges) who promised to get her an LMIA and apply for the extension of her work permit. Gina paid her close to $3,000 CAD but the consultant never delivered what she promised. In fact, when Gina tried to follow up on her application, the consultant disappeared like fog before sunshine.

Frustrated by her ordeal, Gina decided to look for another consultant. A friend of hers suggested that she should seek help from immigration consultant Carl Benito. Gina heeded her friend’s advice and she went to Carl’s office in March 2015.

Carl helped Gina submit an application for Permanent Residence on Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) grounds in May 2015. Gina received the first stage approval of her H&C Application on April 08, 2016.

WHY CARL DOES IMMIGRATION CONSULTANCY
Carl considers his work in immigration consultancy as his own way of honoring God. His experience as member of the Alberta Legislature (2008-2012), his exposure to people of various origins as well as his devout faith in God have inspired Carl to dedicate himself to helping immigrants. As an immigrant himself, Carl fully understands that finding work, extending status and moving to Canada is an extremely challenging process. That is why he prayed hard that God may use him as instrument in helping immigrants find work, study, extend their permit and re-unite with their loved ones through various immigration processes, including permanent residency and citizenship in Canada. Carl is not only sincere, honest and hardworking, he is also trustworthy as his only desire is to honour God in everything that he does.
